Finsimco Accessibility Statement
Measures to support accessibility:
Finsimco takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of all simulations:
- Conduct user testing with assistive technologies
- Incorporate accessibility into simulation and client onboarding
- Maintain ongoing monitoring of accessibility compliance with WCAG updates
Conformance status:
Finsimco's simulations are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. The limitations giving rise to partial conformance are detailed in the 'Limitations' section below.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology:
Finsimco's simulations are designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Our simulations are compatible with all main web browsers. For optimal performance, users are advised to access the simulations on a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.
Finsimco's simulations are not compatible with:
- Mobile phone access is possible; however, certain content may not display at a readable size or may be difficult to navigate hence, we do not advise mobile phone use.
Technical specifications:
Accessibility of Finsimco's simulations rely on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Limitations:
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Finsimco's simulations, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for Finsimco's simulations:
- Non-text Content: Some simulation visuals (graphs, charts, icons) may not have full alternative text or detailed descriptions, which can limit accessibility for screen reader users because some visuals were designed primarily for sighted users, and full alternative text has not yet been implemented. We are reviewing all images and adding descriptive alt text and long descriptions where needed, especially for educational charts and data visuals.
- Captions: Some simulation videos may not include complete captions because not all prerecorded videos have had captions added during production. We aim to add captions to all existing videos and ensure captions are built into new video workflows.
- Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded): Some simulation videos may not yet provide separate audio descriptions for visual elements because visual elements in videos were not always provided with an audio description or alternative text script during content creation. We are preparing text transcripts and exploring audio description overlays for videos with important visual information.
- Keyboard: Certain simulation interactions may not yet be fully operable via keyboard alone because some interactive features were built with mouse use in mind and not fully optimized for keyboard navigation. We aim to update interaction design to ensure all functionality is operable via keyboard and will conduct testing of simulations with keyboard-only navigation.
- Pointer Cancellation: Some clickable interactions (e.g., choice selections in simulations) may trigger too early, limiting cancellation for users with mobility or motor impairments because certain interactive elements are set to activate on initial press/click rather than on release, limiting cancellation. We aim to revise input controls to activate on release, allowing users to cancel actions if pressed accidentally.
- Error Identification: Some error messages may not clearly explain the issue or may rely only on colour to indicate an error because some inputs rely mainly on visual cues (like red borders or icons) instead of clear text explanations. We aim to add text-based error explanations across input areas, and testing for clarity with assistive technology.
- Images of Text: Some images or simulation screens may use text embedded into graphics, which may not be accessible to screen readers because in some cases, text is embedded within graphics for design or branding reasons, making it inaccessible to assistive technology. We aim to replace images of text with accessible HTML text wherever possible or add descriptive alt text if replacement is not feasible.
- Focus Not Obscured: In some simulation screens, focus indicators may be partially hidden behind overlays or fixed UI elements because pop-ups, overlays, sticky headers, menu items, modal case study content etc. occasionally overlap with the keyboard focus indicator. We are redesigning layouts so focus indicators always remain visible and testing with screen readers and keyboard navigation.
